Our Story: Passion, Legacy, and Change

Virginia Ifejika Odukwe Foundation was born from a deep passion for teaching and a lifelong commitment to inspiring young minds. Founded in memory of late Mrs VIrginia Ifejika Odukwe, a dedicated Mathematics and Science teacher, our NGO carries forward the mission to positively impact the lives of young children.

Late Mrs. V.I. Odukwe believed in the power of education to transform lives, especially in the fields of Mathematics and Science, where many young learners face challenges. Our foundation strives to honor their legacy by creating an environment where children not only gain knowledge but also develop a love for learning, curiosity, and the confidence to excel.

We are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality educational resources, mentorship, and opportunities to succeed. Through community programs, scholarships, and educational outreach, we are working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of children in underserved communities. With a team of passionate educators, volunteers, and supporters, we continue to fuel the vision of our founder: empowering children to achieve their highest potential and become leaders in their own right.

Our Mission

To stimulate and nurture the interest of young primary school pupils from local government schools in the study of Mathematics and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Our mission is driven by the need to address the growing apathy and negative perceptions toward Mathematics and STEM-related subjects among young learners. By introducing these subjects in an engaging, supportive, and practical manner, we aim to build curiosity, confidence, and a strong foundational understanding that encourages lifelong learning and problem-solving skills.

Our Vision

This Foundation is a fulfilment of the passion and zeal of Late Mrs Virginia Ifejika Odukwe, a primary school Mathematics and science teacher in positively impacting the lives of young children. Building sustainable systems to motivate and encourage the study and healthy competition in the Mathematics and STEM subjects at this basic education level is key to improved educational opportunties for the children. The ultimate goal is to steer these young minds to critical problem solving, analytical thinking, value delivery and launch our African children towhere they contribute to sustainable development.
